It’s hard to believe that May has almost come and gone. The entire month feels like a whirlwind…SO much has happened!
I shot some footage on my childhood farm earlier in May (Coming Soon!) with my good friends at Two Blue Shirts Productions. We had an absolute blast, and it felt really good to be shooting on the farm where I was born and raised. I count my blessings every day that I still have my childhood home to “go home to”.
Right after we wrapped that shoot, I began packing for my big trip to Texas. I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I shot my first Official music video for my single ‘Six Feet Under’ with the very talented Paul De La Cerda. Paul has directed videos for some of the biggest names in the Texas Country music scene. He’s such a creative and fun director to work with, and I know the end result is going to be amazing! I’m BEYOND excited to share the new video with you all VERY soon!!!!
Also while in Texas, I paid a visit to the head office of my amazing sponsor, Lane Boots. I was given the grand tour, met all the wonderful staff, and was able to take in, in person, all of the incredible cowboy boots in the sample warehouse. It’s a good thing there’s a restriction on luggage, or I would have been trying to take them ALL home to Canada! Lane Boots create some of the most beautifully designed cowboy boots I’ve ever seen…quality, comfort and style…all wrapped into one! (and that turquoise sole! :) ) I was SO happy and honoured to be provided with a beautiful new pair of boots to wear to the CMAO Awards Show. The compliments I received on them were endless! Thanks to the amazing staff at Lane Boots for being such a great team to work with!!!

After a very successful week in Texas, I made it back home to Ontario in time to play the Tin Pan North Songwriters Festival at The Black Swan in downtown Toronto. I shared the stage with some fabulous fellow songwriters, and the crowd was so awesome and receptive to my originals.
Then… it was award show time! I had an incredible time catching up with my Ontario Country Music family at the CMAO Conference & Awards which took place on May 24th/25th. We’re so lucky to have such a wealth of talent coming out of Ontario in the Country music scene. I feel blessed to have been recognized as a nominee for the Rising Star Award. Although I didn’t get the hardware this time around, I walked away feeling like a winner!
The support and love that I get from YOU, my fans, is the best award I could ever ask for! Without you, I wouldn’t be able to continue chasing this crazy dream of writing and singing the music I love.
Thanks for always being there for me…your constant encouragement, love and support make it all worthwhile.
